2A. Data Sources and Accuracy
INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY
Wait times displayed in Standby are provided for informational purposes only and should not be solely relied upon for planning decisions.
Wait time data is sourced from third-party data sources that aggregate publicly available wait time data. These data sources:
- Are NOT affiliated with, operated by, or endorsed by any theme park company
- May experience delays of several minutes between park displays and our app
- May be temporarily unavailable due to API maintenance or outages
- May contain inaccuracies due to data transmission errors or parsing issues
Reasons why displayed wait times may differ from actual wait times:
- Data transmission delays between source and display
- Park systems may not immediately reflect queue changes
- Virtual queue, Lightning Lane, and standby lines may be measured separately
- Attractions transitioning between operational states
- Seasonal overlays or special events affecting queue configurations
- Third-party API outages or data quality issues
By using this App, you acknowledge and accept that:
- You assume all risk for decisions made based on wait time information
- You should always verify wait times at the park before making plans
- Inaccurate data does not constitute grounds for refunds or claims against us
No Affiliation Disclaimer
Standby is an independent application and is:
- NOT affiliated with The Walt Disney Company, Walt Disney Parks and Resorts, NBCUniversal, Universal Parks & Resorts, Comcast Corporation, SeaWorld Entertainment, Six Flags Entertainment Corporation, Cedar Fair Entertainment Company, Merlin Entertainments, or any other theme park owner or operator
- NOT endorsed by any theme park company
- NOT sponsored by any theme park company
We use theme park names, attraction names, and related terminology solely for the purpose of identifying the locations and attractions about which we provide wait time information. This constitutes nominative fair use under trademark law.
All trademarks, service marks, trade names, and logos displayed in the App are the property of their respective owners and are used for identification purposes only.

9. Location Data
How we use location: The App uses your device's location solely to detect when you are near a theme park, allowing us to show relevant wait times automatically.
What we do NOT do:
- We do NOT transmit your location to our servers
- We do NOT track your location history
- We do NOT share location with third parties
- We do NOT use location for advertising
Location data stays on your device and is only used for park detection. You can disable location access in iOS Settings at any time.
10. Push Notifications
Push notifications are used to:
- Alert you when wait times drop below your thresholds
- Remind you before scheduled entertainment shows
- Notify you when attractions reopen after downtime (Line-Snipe alerts)
- Update your Lock Screen with real-time wait times (Live Activities)
You can manage notifications in iOS Settings > Standby. Disabling notifications will prevent alerts from being delivered, but your alert settings will be preserved.
11. Live Activities (Lock Screen Updates)
When you enable Live Activities for an attraction:
- We collect a push token specific to that activity
- We store which attractions you're tracking
- We send real-time wait time updates to your Lock Screen
- Data is deleted within 7 days after the activity ends
You can end Live Activities at any time from your Lock Screen or within the app. Live Activity data is only used to deliver the updates you requested.
12. Widgets
Our widgets display wait times on your Home Screen and Lock Screen:
- Widget data is stored locally in a shared app container on your device
- Premium status is synced to determine which widgets are available
- No additional personal data is transmitted for widget functionality
- Widgets refresh periodically using cached data from our servers
13. Siri Shortcuts
Standby supports Siri Shortcuts for voice commands:
- You can ask Siri about wait times and park status
- Siri accesses locally cached attraction data
- Your location may be used to filter results to nearby parks
- No voice recordings or Siri data is transmitted to our servers
13A. Wearable Devices (Future Feature)
In the future, Standby may support wearable devices such as Apple Watch. If we implement wearable support:
- Commands and queries (e.g., “What's the wait for Space Mountain?”) will be processed on-device when possible
- Notification delivery to wearables uses the same secure channels as iPhone notifications
- No additional personal data will be collected solely for wearable functionality
- Health or fitness data will NOT be accessed or collected
We will update this Privacy Policy before launching wearable features with specific details about any additional data collection or processing.
14. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated “Last Updated” date.
For significant changes, we may notify you through:
- An in-app notice
- A push notification (if enabled)
Your continued use of Standby after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

Data Breach Notification
In the event of a data breach affecting your personal information, we will notify the relevant supervisory authority within 72 hours as required by GDPR and applicable law.
